Footwork
Footwork has always been a little confusing to me. Everyone teaches different steps: some linear some circular, angled in or angled out, some degreed this way and others that, squared, not squared, more weight on the front more on the back, more in between, grounded, floating, rythmic, syncopated etc. And some say: "just walk naturally". Well I guess that's why my teachers always told me to just stick with one style_so I would not be so confused. The latest very mind-boggling series of counter-instruction comes from the R.O.S.S. method: step like a question mark! Huh? So here's the step that freed up the chains of confusion. It's brilliant really. The question mark is half of an infinity sign_part linear and part circular containing both big movement and small movement. Ok guess I'm back to step one...just walk naturally.
